Positional Treatments
Sleep position can have a major impact on snoring. When sleeping on one’s back, the force of gravity can cause the tongue to fall back and partially block the airway. People in whom this positional factor is a major contributor to snoring tend to benefit most from “side sleeping”.
Positional devices work by encouraging the snorer to sleep on his or her side thereby promoting a closed mouth posture and preventing the tongue from slipping back and obstructing the airway.
Positional treatments have the advantages of being effective, non-invasive and inexpensive. The Snoring Centre offers a number of different and affordable solutions.
